Diboll Fitness Opening Delayed to July 7 — Here’s Why It Matters
Why the delay? Simply put, the facility isn’t where it needs to be yet. Sections of carpet still need to be replaced, our bathrooms are being upgraded, and there are final details that I refuse to rush. We’re building more than just another gym with equipment; we’re building a place that feels like a second home for our members.
I could open early and cut corners—but that’s not how we do things here. Not at a gym that’s rooted in quality, care, and integrity.
Why This Matters to Me: A Lesson from College
Back in my college days at the University of Utah, I took a class on successful business case studies. One that really stood out was Ritz-Carlton Hotels. Their model wasn’t about flashy luxury—it was about empowered service. Every employee, from janitor to general manager, had the freedom (and a dedicated budget) to make every guest’s stay exceptional.
Their guiding principle?
“Ladies and Gentlemen serving Ladies and Gentlemen.”
That philosophy stuck with me. It’s how I’ve approached every business I’ve owned, and it’s the foundation for this gym as well. Even though we’ll operate with minimal staff, I want every member to feel respected, cared for, and proud to be here.
